As advertised, but weak design I took the risk of getting this, thinking all the while it would bend my toes back and cause discomfort during the night, perhaps cramping by morning. Unfortunately, that is what I experienced. I think the principle of stretching the Achilles tendon at night is correct, but the solution requires, I think, a more rigid toe area so that the toes are not, a.) restricted in flexing (they are constrained in the sock), and b.) not pulled up and back. Both of these caused me to remove the sock after a few hours of wearing it. Again, the product was as advertised, but the design, IMHO, is fundamentally weak. I'm giving a "good" overall because the product implementation and delivery were fine; the design of the product is what doesn't help, in my case. One more thing. The strap around my calf slid down in the night, loosening the tension on the toe. That was a more minor concern given the design concern.

Made a difference Woke up with pain-free, relaxed foot and calf. Tricky to get ball of foot, not toes, bent, but once I did the sock was comfy.

Advantages: Size: Runs True to Size.
Shoe Width: Runs True to Size.
Would buy again.

There is no perfect solution but it is a good solution As already said, a good way to heal Achilles tendinitis is to stretch it during the night. Unfortunately, some people have problem sleeping with a foot in this position. I must say that this ultrastretch sock is more comfortable than a night splint brace (big plastic brace) but it does stretch the toes. The best solution if you feel discomfort is to reduce the stretching. Most of the time I'm ok with it but I may try with a shoe insert to reduce toes stretching.

I really like this product! as a Stroke survivor, I am experiencing sever tone in my foot causing my toes to curl and Hammer tone. The first night I wore the sock we really cranked the toes back bit was sore the next morning all the way from my Achilles, hamstring and left but cheek. so you see what a effective stretch this can give you. but my advise is ease into it. I stretched to much first night.

Advantages: I does provide a beneficial stretch
not so heavy that you get hot with it on.

Disadvantages: a bit tough for me to get the strap tight around calf to keep it up. So a helper is needed to put on if you only have one hand to use.
